LibertyBus and the States of Jersey Police assist visually impaired users
LibertyBus joined the States of Jersey Police Engaging Disabilities meeting which included ongoing joint work to assist visually impaired users of the LibertyBus service, whereby buses will verbally communicate certain bus stops along the route.
The audio and visual next stop display announcements on bus are currently being tested across the fleet with the full next stop announcement service to be launched early next year.
The next stop audio and visual announcements will be vital in assistng passengers with visual and hearing impairments and will ensure the LibertyBus network is as accessible as possible for all users.
LibertyBus and the States of Jersey Police met with Guide Dogs Jersey before their big book sale this coming weekend.
As part of Engaging Disabilities, States of Jersey Police officers decided to offer support to a different type of working dog who do a great job in helping members of our communities.
The short visit was to show solidarity and support from one type of working dog to another in the lead up to the Guide Dog Book sale.
PC Dave Bisson and PD Turbo and LibertyBus were joined by Murray Treanor and Bella for the visit.
The book sale takes place between 9.30am and 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday at the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity.
